Name: Sister Tracey Catherine, IHM
Current Ministry: High School Mathematics Teacher
Hometown: Havertown, PA
Profession Year: 2011
Previous Ministries: Director of Student Activities; Middle School Teacher
Question #1 - How did you meet the IHM Sisters?
I met the IHM Sisters as a freshman at Immaculata University in the fall of 2003. During my first year, I had five IHM Sisters as professors, so I had the gift of getting to know the community through the classroom and through their presence on campus.
Question #2 - What surprised you most about religious life?
I learned that religious life does not erase your personality. It actually helps you become more fully yourself. We are not cookie cutter nuns. We are all members of the same religious community but we can each be uniquely ourselves!
Question #3 - What does a typical day look like for you?
During the school year we typically start our school days with morning prayer and Mass. We gather for an informal breakfast before heading over to school. During the school day, I teach math, work with students, and help run the Pope Leo Center for Mathematics. After school, there might be meetings, tutoring, lesson planning, or community responsibilities. We meet for evening prayer followed by dinner and typically we gather in the community room most evenings.
Question #4 - What is one word that describes your vocation?
joy-filled
